Lori and Carrie Families Visit

Lori & Robert East Family
We had our daughters Lori and Carrie and their families here in Nauvoo this week. They arrived Monday evening and left Friday morning. Since our cast wasn't scheduled to have a show on Monday or Thursday night, we were able to spend those evenings with them. Also we managed to spend a couple of afternoons with them, too. Besides visiting several of the sites including Carthage, the kids were able to do baptisms for the dead and the adults were able to attend an endowment session at the temple.

I (Fred) was able to do the blacksmith presentation for them and to make them miniature horseshoes. Each one got a prairie diamond at the blacksmith shop, too.

I took Carrie's husband, Vance , to the Lands and Records Office to look up some ancestors who were supposed to have been in Nauvoo. He found information on several ancestors along with a CD containing all the documents which included stories. One of his ancestors build Hyrum Smith's house. Vance also visited a couple of sites which were owned by ancestors of his.

It was good to have them come to Nauvoo and to be able to spend some time with them. Hopefully, they were able to feel the spirit of Nauvoo. We are hoping that all of our children will be able to come to Nauvoo while we are here. There is such a special spirit here.
