District Leader Assignment

Following our block meetings today, Elder Openshaw asked if he and his wife could visit us just after noon. Elder Openshaw and his wife serve as our zone leaders. I told Ann that they will want to make us district leaders.

Elder and Sister Openshaw said President Gililland had requested that they extend the call to us to serve as the district leaders of our district which is the Brigham Young District. Our district is made up four senior couples and two senior single sisters.

We have three zones which all meet together one Sunday evening each month. There are currently 20 districts named after one of the early church leaders of the Nauvoo area. All districts meet individually one Sunday evening each month. They all meet at the same time, usually at the apartment of the district leader. As part of the meeting the district may have a pot luck dinner or finger foods if desired. The districts are given assignments each month which include some cleaning of signs and kiosks and sacrament preparation.
