Sleigh Ride

We had another Arctic cold front come through that left about ten inches of snow and temperatures in the single digits and a wind chill of minus 15 degrees. More snow and sub zero temperatures are expected all next week as well.

When we get a snow storm with enough snow, the teamsters get a ten person sled out and give rides to the missionaries. Because this storm fell on our preparation day, Ann got tickets and a reservation for a 10:00 a.m. ride. She scheduled the ride late enough in the morning so that I would have time to clear the Brigham Young site of snow along with some single sisters' home who are assigned to our district. When it snows on the weekend when the facilities staff are off, site leaders or husbands of site leaders have to shovel snow for access to the sites and district leaders are responsible to clear driveways and sidewalks of any single sisters in their district.

Our district was assigned to clean the stake center this morning at eight o'clock. That along with the snow shoveling had to be done before the sleigh ride. So the day started early, as usual.

The sleigh ride  was fun but very cold even with the blankets which were provided. We rode out through the country side for half an hour. The team's harnesses had bells on them which added to the atmosphere on the ride.
