A Busy Sunday

Sundays are usually busy and this one although somewhat different was no exception. Following our block meetings, we had to hurry home, change into our site clothes and go to the Blacksmith/Wainwright Shop where we were assigned along with Elder and Sister Tucket from Payson, Utah. It was a very cold day. 

We did have one family with five young children from Georgia stop for a tour. The father had been working in the clothing department at the Atlanta Georgia Temple. They were on their way to Arizona where he was going to be in charge of the clothing department in the new Gilbert Arizona Temple. Each of the children were excited to receive their very own prairie diamond ring.


Immediately following our site assignment, I had to hurry over to the visitor center for a Nauvoo Legion marching practice. This next Saturday will be the re-enactment of the Nauvoo exodus and I volunteered to be a member of the Nauvoo Legion for the re-enactment. Because of the cold, we practiced marching around in the lobby of the visitor center.

After a half hour of drill marching, I rushed home to have something to eat (it being Fast Sunday we hadn't eaten all day) get Ann and get back to the visitor center for our monthly zone meeting.

Following our zone meeting, we went to the home of Elder and Sister Mayne from Missouri. They are part of our MCT group of 64. Sister Mayne wanted to have a party for Ann's 70th birthday. However, with Rendezvous shows, Sunset practices which have now started, the Exodus Re-enactment and other scheduled mission activities there just wasn't a time available. So, Sister Mayne said that she and Sister Thompson from Washington wanted to have a small birthday party right after our zone 


meeting. She invited the three other couples from our MTC district along with Elder and Sister Thompson (more good friends) making a total of seven couples. Everyone sang to Ann and we had some treats. It is so hard to get together with anyone who is not in your Rendezvour cast because of schedules. It was nice to visit briefly and a good way to end the day.
