Ward Family Cousins

Welton Ward, Susan Easton Black and Ann

This evening we had a mission fireside ( which they call a sociable). Susan Easton Black was the speaker. She is a BYU Professor of Church History. Much of her research, work and publications are related to the Nauvoo period and its people including several books on the Prophet Joseph Smith Jr. She spoke about the Seventies Quorums of Nauvoo (all thirty five of them). It was very interesting.

We learned from Elder Welton Ward (a missionary from Idaho we met here and who is a cousin of Ann's) that Professor Black is also a cousin  to Ann through the Ward Family.

We also learned that Professor Black has been called to serve as a temple missionary here in  Nauvoo starting in August. She also owns a home here in Nauvoo where she stays when she makes her visits to Nauvoo to do research and give lectures.
