Another Humanitarian Project

Ann was assigned to the Lyon Drug site today. There is a room in the rear of the site used for making and storing of humanitarian projects made by the missionaries. While serving at that site and since it is a slow time of year in terms of visitors, sister missionaries assigned to the site as well as a few other sites work on humanitarian projects. At the Lyon Drug, Ann was making little stuffed bears. Sister Gneiting who was also assigned there with Ann was sewing fabric together to make quilting blocks.

There are quite a few Elders who are making knit stocking hats of all sizes while sitting in their assigned sites. They make the hats on the circle looms. Some sister missionaries not assigned to sites set up for humanitarian projects crochet stocking hats.

In the rear of the Lyon Drug, all the completed humanitarian projects are stored until needed. Local Relief Society presidents can come and pick up items from the sister missionary in charge of humanitarian projects. Each item made for the projects has two tags attached. One indicates the items is from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The other tag indicates the item was made by missionaries in the Illinois Nauvoo Mission.
